LIAISON INTERPRETING

The interpretation of liaison or community interpreting is the interpretation that is provided in public services such as finance, social security or hospitals. This interpretation has essentially arisen in places with a high influx of foreign nationals, immigration and multilingual cultures, forcing public services to hire interpreters to comply with immigrant requests.

This type of interpretation is currently best suited for small meetings that involve few participants, allowing the interpreter to make a similar interpretation to the consecutive interpretation but with longer intervals.
